Using a web proxy to get through a firewall

I was using MailChimp's V1.1 MC.NET API until I hit a problem that looks like it's fixed in 1.2 or 1.3 but there is no official wrapper for those versions so I am trying to move over to PerceptiveMCAPI.  I can ping OK from my server, but locally, I can't get through the corporate firewall.

In MC.NET, I added:

this.api.Proxy = new WebProxy(proxy);

which did the trick.

How do I route through a web proxy in Perceptive MCAPI?

Same problem. As far as I'm concerned, XML-RPC lib actually can route through web proxy, using .Net 2.0 mechanizm. Perhaps, there is a way I could specify proxy instance for it? Specifying the global default proxy like they recommend in MSDN doesn't seem to work.

Sure one can beat the issue by making the network admins modify proxy rules to enable direct througput of web traffic between the app and target MC enpoint, but that's hardly a good solution since obviously the endpoints are not the same for different MC users.

So the questions are:

1. Is there a way one can make the wrapper route throw web proxies?

2. If not, what are the chances of including this feature in future release?
